Gígur is an ArtRock band from Monterrey, México. Born out of the initiative of Iván Taméz in 2003, the prior influences on this group can be heard in their present interpretations, which go from progressive rock to metal, blues, folk, jazz and improvisation.

Gígur´s first album, "Fin del Tiempo (en tus manos)", features Emilio Delgado on drums, Iván Taméz on guitar and synthesizer, Jorge Bringas on guitar and keyboards, Ricardo Vilchez on bass, and special guests Mercy on drums and Arturo Aguirre on bass.

Art work was done by local artist Ricardo López using photography and various design techniques and is the result of his interpretation of Gigur´s music in rehearsals and presentations.

In November 2004 the band won a monetary prize in a contest hosted by the most prestigious governmental institution of art in Mexico (CONARTE). The award helped fund the making of the CD.
